Privacy policy for dotacounterpick

dotacounterpick.com is a free Dota 2 counter-picking guide. This page explains what happens to your data when you visit. It covers this site only, not the sites it links to.

The site is a folder of static files. There is no server code, no database and no accounts. So most of this policy is about what does not happen.

Nothing. There is no login and no tracking script on any page. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Your visit is not counted, profiled, or tied to any other site you use.

Every hero and counter is part of the page itself, and search runs inside your browser. What you type and which heroes you read never get sent anywhere.

Hero and item art comes from Valve's servers. Your browser fetches those images straight from cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com. That request carries your IP address and browser version, the way any image request does. Valve handles it under their privacy policy, not this one. Everything else, including fonts and code, is served from this site.

The form is the only part of the site that sends anything anywhere, and only when you press Send. Your message goes to web3forms.com, which forwards it to my inbox. Their part is covered by their own privacy policy.

Name and email are optional. They are there so I can reply. Leave them blank and the message arrives anonymously.

I read messages and then keep or delete them like any other email. They are never published, never added to a mailing list, and never passed to anyone else. Nothing is saved on the site, because there is no database here to save it in.

So the form can't be used to flood my inbox, your browser remembers when you last sent a message. It stores the time and a short fingerprint of the text, which is enough to spot a double-send. Never the message itself.

It sits in your own browser and is never sent anywhere. It expires after an hour, and clearing your browser data removes it right away. Nothing else is stored on your device, and there are no cookies at all.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, they keep short-term logs that include IP addresses, to serve the site and deal with attacks. Those logs are theirs, under their policy. I don't read them, export them, or link them to anything.

Everything outside this site that is involved:

• Cloudflare hosts the site. It sees the request for every page.
• Valve serves the hero and item art. It sees the request for each image.
• web3forms.com delivers contact form messages. Only involved if you send one.
• Buy Me a Coffee runs the tip link in the header. Only involved if you click it and leave the site. Payments happen there, under their policy, and I never see your card details.

These companies work internationally, so a request may be handled outside your country. No ad network, data broker or analytics provider is involved with this site.

There is no profile of you here, so there is usually nothing to request. The one exception is a message you sent me. Ask for a copy of it or ask me to delete it, and I will.

In the EU, the UK and similar places you have more rights than that. You can see your data, correct it, delete it, or object to how it is used. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. To use any of these, just write to me.

You can block local storage and images in your browser settings too. The site still works, the art just won't load.

The site isn't aimed at children. It has no accounts and knowingly collects no personal data from anyone, children included.

If anything here changes, this page says what changed and the date above moves. If analytics or ads are ever added, that goes here first, before they go live.

Questions about this policy, or anything else on the site, are welcome. Use the contact form or email me at dotacounterpick@proton.me.
