How to counter Morphling
In lane
- • Night Stalker has superior night vision which makes him a great hunter as Morphling likes to play alone and on low strength. • Crippling Fear stops Morphling from using Waveform or Attribute Shift (Strength Gain). If he has low strength and no Black King Bar or Force Staff he can easily die.
In game
- • Lion is naturally good against slippery heroes as he has two disables. • Mana Drain is an excellent spell against Morphling as he needs mana to shift his attributes and use Waveform. • Morphling likes to play on low strength so he can farm creeps faster which means he can be one-shotted by Finger of Death.
- • Mana Break is an excellent spell against Morphling as he needs mana to shift his attributes and use Waveform. • Anti-Mage can reflect Adaptive Strike with Counterspell. • Depending on the items he buys, Morphling can amass a solid mana pool and be a good Mana Void target.
- • Morphling relies on shifting his attributes to manipulate the fight. If he gets Doomed while Attribute Shift (Strength Gain) he will lose all his armor while not gaining any health. But if he is Attribute Shift (Agility Gain) he will lose all his health and kill himself. • When full strength mode, Morphling can be high HP making Infernal Blade a good spell against him.
- • Morphling likes to play on low strength so he can farm creeps faster which means he can be one-shotted by Vendetta.
- • Fiend's Grip is a great disable against Morphling while also draining some of his mana. • Bane can catch Morphling on low strength with Nightmare or Fiend's Grip for an easy kill. • Brain Sap is a good decent range spell that can kill a Morphling on low strength. • The more agility Morphling has shifted, the more Enfeeble reduces his damage while also providing a significant cast range reduction.
- • Outworld Destroyer does not care about a high armor Morphling as Arcane Orb deals pure damage. • Sanity's Eclipse is a very potent nuke that can one-shot Morphling playing on relatively low strength.
- • Tiny has a potent burst with his attack, Avalanche and Toss which can one-shot Morphling playing on low strength. • Tiny likes to buy Shadow Blade or Blink Dagger which makes him a good Morphling hunter.
- • Morphling can Attribute Shift (Agility Gain) to amass a lot of agility which results in high armor. Natural Order reduces his base armor to ZERO.
- • A Morphling affected by Ice Blast is unable to Attribute Shift (Strength Gain) to heal himself.
