How to counter Axe
In lane
- • Axe struggles at laning versus ranged heroes since he cannot get close to them to make use of Counter Helix aggression.Ranged carries, 7 in this group
- • Winter Wyvern can easily zone out Axe in the lane due to Arctic Burn. It has a long range, slows him and deals a good chunk of damage. • Later on, Winter Wyvern can counter his initiation with Winter's Curse. • Winter Wyvern can save an ally under Berserker's Call with Cold Embrace.
In game
- • All these heroes are too survivable to die in a single Berserker's Call.Carries too tanky to die in call, 3 in this group
- • Core Vengeful Spirit always buys Aghanim's Scepter and has two lives. Therefore Axe committing on her is usually a bad idea. • She can save allies from Berserker's Call with Nether Swap.
- • The constant healing from Death Pulse and Sadist makes it difficult to kill targets with Culling Blade. • Necrophos's damage comes from damage over time with Radiance and Heartstopper Aura making Berserker's Call + Blade Mail not very effective against him. • Ghost Shroud will prevent him from attacking Axe while taunted. • Heartstopper Aura is great against Axe's high HP.

- • The more HP Axe gets, the more survivable and stronger Lifestealer gets. • He can save allies from Berserker's Call with Infest.
- • Axe likes to play the teamfight by blinking in, using Berserker's Call, and backing out while Blink Dagger is down. Plague Ward gives vision and can help cancel his Blink Dagger. • All of Venomancer's spells are good at slowing him once he commits to the fight.
Items
- • Use this when Axe initiates on an ally. Your ally will still be taunted, but they won't be hitting him with Blade Mail. • This item forces Axe to commit with Black King Bar. When he does buy it, you can upgrade it to Wind Waker and use it on the ally being taunted.
Eul's Scepter of Divinity - • This item can dispel his Battle Hunger or REFLECT it which is great as Axe does not usually buy dispel.
Lotus Orb - • This item can be used on Axe or an allied hero to stop him from attacking your ally during Berserker's Call.
